Pair your devices
On the website, choose Pair a device. In the iPhone app, tap Pair device → Scan QR and scan the website’s code. You can also paste a complete pairing link.
Choose. Send. Receive.
Select your files, then choose the receiving device. Accept the incoming file there. Dropair checks that every byte arrived before marking it delivered.
A few things worth knowing.
My device doesn’t appear
Check that both devices joined the same pairing link and are on the same Wi-Fi. On iPhone, allow Dropair’s Local Network permission in Settings. Guest Wi-Fi, work networks, VPNs, and firewalls can block device-to-device connections.
Can I send to someone on another network?
Dropair is designed for local sharing. It has no cloud file storage or relay fallback. Use the same local network; cellular or remote sharing is not supported.
Where did my received file go?
On the website, choose Save next to a received file to export it to your downloads. Files remain in that browser’s storage until removed or site data is cleared. On iPhone, find received files in Dropair’s folder in the Files app, or share them from Recent.
Can I send a folder?
Yes. Dropair packages folders into a ZIP archive while preserving the folder structure. The recipient saves and extracts the ZIP using their device’s file manager.
Can I close the app during a transfer?
Keep both apps open until the transfer finishes. A short interruption may recover while both sessions remain open. If an app closes or a page reloads, start the transfer again.
Who can see my devices?
People with your private pairing link can join your space. Keep it private, check device names, and approve only expected files. Create a new private space if you shared the link by mistake.
What does Dropair Plus unlock?
When paid plans launch, the iOS free tier will include 10 outgoing sends per day, with receiving always free. Monthly or yearly Plus access will unlock the iOS document scanner and remove app ads and the daily send limit. Preview limits are currently disabled. The website stays free. A directly connected Plus iPhone shares ad-free access with its paired browser for that session. You can restore app purchases or manage your subscription in the app.
